Abstract

This article aims at comparing the coverage of two Angolan newspapers on human rights violations by public institutions. The civil war and the violations that emerged were dominant approaches in the press in Angola throughout the 1990s. The civil war which ended in 2002 led to a change of approach in the Angolan press and increased demand on the freedoms of expression and information. Despite the diversity of newspapers in Angola, the journalistic practice remains marked by constraints of various kinds. This article text focuses on the information during the biennium 2008-2009.
