Samir Amin, Director of the Third World Forum

SAMIR AMIN is Director of the Third World Forum. He has in the past taught economics both at Poitiers University in Paris and Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar. He has published extensively in the fields of law, civil society, socialism, colonialism and development, particularly in Africa and the Arab and Moslem world. Some of his recent publications are: The Liberal Virus: Permanent War and the Americanization of the World (2004), Europe and the Arab World; patterns and prospects for the new relationship (2005), Beyond US Hegemony: Assessing the Prospects for a Multipolar World (2006), L’Éveil du Sud (2008), Sur la crise (2009).
