Author Biographies

J Oloka-Onyango, J Oloka-Onyango, Makerere University, Uganda.

J. Oloka-Onyango is a Professor of Law and a former Dean of the School of Law. He was the Director of the Human Rights & Peace Centre (HURIPEC) from 2004 until 2012, and a Special Rapporteur on Globalization and Human Rights of the United Nations Sub-Commission on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights. 

Prof. Oloka-Onyango has written extensively on Human Rights, Constitutional Law and Sexual and Gender Based Violence.

Sylvia Tamale, Makerere University, Uganda

Sylvia Rosila Tamale is a Ugandan scholar and human rights activist in Uganda. She was the first female dean of the Faculty of Law at Makerere University, Uganda.
