6 - La revue Afrika Zamani et la vulgarisation de l’histoire africaine (1972–2001)

Abstract

In order to have a Journal for the valorization and the promotion of African history, African historians came together during the Congress of the Association of the African Historians which took place in Dakar in December 1972, and decided to create the Journal named Afrika Zamani. In spite of the numerous difficulties of all sorts encountered at the beginning of its existence, the Journal was able to stand up to the challenge of the first three decades of its existence and hereby ensure the assertion of the African historical personality.
