Author Biography

Fassil Demissie

studied design at the University of California, Berkeley in 1973, then earned a Master of Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of California, Los Angeles in 1978, and a PhD in Urban Planning at the University of California, Los Angeles in 1993.He has served as an associate professor of public policy studies at DePaul University in Chicago.Dr. Demissie's research interests are diverse and include contemporary urban theory, comparative urban and regional studies, globalization and the intersection of space and society. He combines this with contemporary architectural theory and criticism, urbanism and the intersection of architecture, race and other forms of identity.
