3 - Negotiating the search for diagnosis and healing tuberculosis in Namibia. A case study of a Ju/’hoansi speaking man.

Résumé
Cette étude de cas sur la tuberculose chez des locuteurs de ju/'hoansi dans un petit village du
district d'Otjodzondjupa, en namibie, montre comment différentes notions concernant la tuberculose et les affections de type tuberculeux
deviennent un domaine d'incertitude et même de discorde dans une situation où l'éducation à la tuberculose est
bonne mais le diagnostic , et par extension le traitement, ne sont pas toujours facilement accessibles. L'article
soutient que le culturalisme dans les services de santé détourne l'attention des
aspects socio-économiques et politiques de la tuberculose. il montre en outre que les locuteurs de Ju/'hoansi doivent se tourner vers
les plantes médicinales pour faire face à leur mauvaise santé lorsque l'interface avec les services de santé
devenir problématique. Les plantes sont comprises comme étant dans une relation particulière avec les humains et
avec la nature également. Pourtant, l'utilisation de plantes médicinales est également un terrain de connaissances et de pratiques médicinales contestées par les services de santé comme potentiellement dangereuses et contre-productives pour le traitement de la tuberculose.
