4 - Putting Oil First? Some Ethnographic Aspects of Petro leum-related Land Use Contro versies in Nigeria

Résumé
Cet article examine, à partir de données ethnographiques récentes, l'une des processus moins connus par lesquels les opérations pétrolières se maintiennent conflit social au Nigeria. En se concentrant sur ce que l'on a fini par appeler « éminent
« abus de domaine » par la communauté internationale de justice envi ronnementale, l'arti cle révèle le caractère des opé rations pétrolières en un certain nombre des communautés de la région productrice de pétrole du Nigeria. L'article relate la
pratiques des sociétés pétrolières transnationales, le dispositif de la régula tion autorités tory et les discours d'opposition des gens ordinaires dans les communautés pétrolières aux lois régissant l'utilisation des terres et la propriété minière
dans le pays.
